Vegetable Bouquets

Vegetable Bouquets

Vegetable Bouquets 1500 1000 Lo

This fun and healthy snack idea is so easy to make with small children – a vegetable bouquet.  Simple to put together and makes a fun edible craft project for kids.

You will need

  • bamboo skewers
  • mini shaped cutters
  • some fruit and veg we used cucumber, carrots, blueberries, strawberries and grapes.

Top tip: I cut my skewers in half using kitchen scissors to make them easier to work with.  For younger children, you may want to cut the sharp point off each skewer too.

  1. Peel the carrot, cut the carrot and cucumber into thick slices.  Shape into flowers using mini cutters.
  2. To make each flower, first thread a grape onto a skewer.  The grape helps to hold the flower in place and stops it from slipping down the skewer.
  3. Add one or two of the cucumber and/or carrot flowers, then top with a blueberry if wanted.

We made a mixture of flowers. Serve up as a fun and healthy snack, or use as a pretty centrepiece for a springtime or Easter table.
